Singhसंस्थापक व अध्यक्ष, टीएमएस ग्रुपFounder & Chairman, TMS Groupहमारे गाँवों के बहुत से बच्चे, ख़ासकर बेटियाँ, 12वीं के बाद पढ़ाई इसलिए छोड़ देते थे कि कॉलेज दूर था, रोज़ आने-जाने का ख़र्च भारी था और घर वाले इतनी दूर भेजने से हिचकते थे। प्रतिभा गाँव में थी, पर अवसर शहर में।
ठाकुर मातिवर सिंह महाविद्यालय इसी दूरी को मिटाने के लिए बना है। आज पुराउत्तम, जमालापुर में ही विश्वविद्यालय की डिग्री, स्नातकोत्तर पढ़ाई और शिक्षक-प्रशिक्षण उपलब्ध है। छात्राओं के लिए निःशुल्क बस और छात्रवृत्ति आवेदन में सहायता इसलिए है कि कोई भी योग्य विद्यार्थी केवल पैसे या दूरी की वजह से पीछे न रहे।
मेरा सपना है कि यहाँ से पढ़कर निकले युवा अपने गाँव, ज़िले और देश का नाम रोशन करें — और जो शिक्षक बनें, वे अगली पीढ़ी को उसी लगन से पढ़ाएँ, जिस लगन से उन्हें यहाँ पढ़ाया गया।
Many young people from our villages, daughters most of all, used to stop studying after Class 12 because college was far away, the daily travel was expensive and families hesitated to send them so far. The talent was in the village; the opportunity was in the city.
Thakur Mativar Singh Mahavidyalay was built to close that distance. Today a university degree, postgraduate study and teacher training are available right here in Purauttam, Jamalapur. Free buses for girls and help with scholarship applications are there so that no deserving student is held back by money or distance.
My dream is that the young people who study here bring pride to their village, their district and the nation, and that those who become teachers teach the next generation with the same dedication with which they were taught here.
